Energy Capacity Building Sector
The Energy Capacity Development (ECD) sector at King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE) focuses on developing human capacities, which are essential for the advancement of the energy sector in Saudi Arabia. The human capacity development framework encompasses all energy fields. This framework is designed to prepare and qualify the national workforce to be sustainable and contribute to the energy transformation in the Kingdom. The goal of this sector is to develop World-class energy workforce.

General Education: We offer interactive educational programs through the Mishkat Interactive Center, explore energy sciences and technologies through innovative interactive exhibits that inspire curiosity and learning in an engaging way. Additionally, the center provides a range of engaging scientific workshops and exclusive educational films. It also offers several programs beyond school hours and during holidays.

Technicians and Technologists (Diploma): We develop and enhance advanced qualification programs aimed at empowering technicians and technologists to work efficiently in energy projects across the Kingdom. These specialized training programs cover various technical and practical aspects, leading to an accredited diploma that qualifies participants for effective employment in this vital sector.
Higher education Students: We develop and improve specialized graduate programs in energy, designed to train national talents and prepare them as future leaders in research, development, and innovation within the energy sector.

Business Incubators and Supporting Entrepreneurship in the Energy Sector: K.A.CARE contributes to supporting entrepreneurship by launching business incubators in the energy sector. These initiatives aim to empower entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into innovative and effective projects within the energy sector.
Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Program: The JPO program aims to empower and develop the capabilities of young Saudi professionals in organizations related to the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, contributing to the international community and gaining exposure to global practices and standards. The program lasts for one year, during which the junior professional works at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as part of a multinational team with experience in scientific, technical, and administrative fields.
