K.A.CARE acknowledges that it is the driving force of Saudi Arabia's nuclear and renewable energy industry, thus, it contributes in securing a sustainable future of energy nationally and internationally. Therefore, it is important for K.A.CARE to communicate with all its partners during its activities from the very beginning, in such methodology, it ensures the involvement of all relevant governmental agencies, international agencies, and the local and international private sector to share their knowledge and expertise, as well as benefit from the promising investment opportunities.
Companies
From the outset, K.A.CARE seeks to collaborate with local and international organizations in all aspects of its activities as it progresses towards implementing its core objectives. Therefore, it has allowed international and national engineering advisory agencies to engage in the development of the master plan for a sustainable state. As the plan progresses, it is important to collaborate with contractors, engineers and developers, as individuals or as partnerships, to contribute in the development of these emerging opportunities.
In addition, K.A.CARE tends to present the First Tender for Solar Energy program. Thereby, partnerships with national and international organizations is not limited to supplement of required equipment and expertise; it includes: local industry, information transfer, basic services and Saudi manpower training in all aspects of the solar energy technology from production to construction of solar power plants and their permanent maintenance. Therefore, national talents will have the opportunity to participate in solar energy research with a focus on exporting energy sector services and products. In general, K.A.CARE aims to indigenize at least 80% of solar energy and 60% of the value chain.
Sustainable energy orientation is a key to industrial development, but this will not limit the focus on those industries whom specialized in the sustainable energy sector; K.A.CARE emphasizes the exploitation of the increasing level of natural energy sources, which will allow the opportunity to utilize crude fuel in added value activities.
Moreover, to support local economic development and national industries, a number of companies and co-financing funding are planned to be built to allow contributions from the community members and other businesses in the development of sustainable energy.
Educational Institutions
K.A.CARE is working on detailed educational plans to motivate the new generation and to ensure the development of human resources. The plans include: scholarships for students at universities, (such as King Fahad University of Petroleum & Minerals in Dhahran, King Abdullah University of Science & Technology, King AbdulAziz University in Jeddah, MIT University in the United States of America and other high-level educational institutions all around the world,) that will partner with each other. K.A.CARE also completed a number of research and training agreements with prestigious international scientific and academic institutions (such as the University of Tokyo in Japan and Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Research in Germany).
Mishkat Interactive Center for Atomic and Renewable Energy
An initiative of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy to support Saudi Arabia's pioneering role in the energy economy by engaging the community and raising awareness of the importance of energy in our daily lives. As well as motivate the Saudi youth and educate them about the sources of atomic and renewable energy to become the leaders of the future's energy. Mishkat also offers a stimulating environment that presents real opportunities to learn about types of energy, its different sources, methods of generation, transmission and utilization, as well as the latest innovations and opportunities in the field of energy.
In partnership with the Saudi Aramco Cultural Program, the travelling exhibit "Saudi Arabia 2050" was designed to expand the horizons of science and knowledge, and to encourage youngsters to interact with the future through scientific and interactive exhibits aimed to promote the concept of creativity and innovation, as well as rationalizing energy usage. Visitors also would be exposed to many of the latest technological innovations in the fields of energy through a distinct scientific content. Mishkat encourages its visitors not only to hope for the future; but also to contribute to a better future for Saudi Arabia and the whole world through direct interaction with interesting scientific exhibits and experiments.
