 “Saudi Day” :Expo 2017

The Kingdom's pavilion in Astana, Kazakhstan,  organized an event celebrating the "Saudi Day" at EXPO 2017 under the auspices of KACARE's President Dr. Hashim Abdullah Yamani.  Ceremonial activities were initiated by raising the Saudi flag high in the sky and the national anthem was played.  Dr. Yamani, in his inaugural welcome address noted the strong brotherly religious, historical and cultural ties that tie up the two friendly nations, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the incubator of the Two Holy Mosques, and the Republic of Kazakhstan, the largest Islamic country.  He particularly mentioned the brotherly relations that tie up the two nations, namely trade, economic and cultural relations.  He enumerated the great  amenities Allah has bestowed upon the Kingdom:: the Two Holy Mosques, huge natural resources, investment capabilities, strategic geographical location at the crossroads of three continents, and, last but not the

 

 

 

least, young, ambitious and distinguished human resources..  These elements put together constitute the mainstays of "Saudi Vision 2030".  The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques summed up all these pillars into his saying, "my first and foremost goal is to see our country a story of success - - a model  and a pioneer in the world at all levels…".

 

The activities went on and a demonstration was conducted in an integrated program where popular activities and cultural celebrations representing the four corners of the Kingdom were reviewed.

 

Since its inception the Kingdom's pavilion under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources and His Excellency KACARE's Present,  it carries on with receiving visitors all day long.  It is worth noting that KACARE has organized and supervised the Kingdom's pavilion in collaboration

 

 

 

 with a number of other government agencies, notably the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, Foreign Ministry and KACST, King Abdullah Center for Petroleum Research and Studies,  King Abdullah University for Science and Technology, Natiional Center for Energy Efficiency, SABIC and private sector.

 

Expo 2017 organized in Astana under the title "Energy Future" aims at reviewing and addressing the emerge-related challenges faced by the whole universe.  Expo also sheds light on issues related to provision of energy to all, while stressing the importance of energy efficiency and reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

 

Furthermore, the Kingdom's pavilion at Expo 2017 in Astana has been classified as one of the most-visited ten pavilions.  400,000 visits have been made to it since its inception, i.e. 20% of the total visitors whose number was in excess of two million visitors.  The number indicates that one performance indicator targeted by the Kingdom's participation has been achieved.  Moreover, the Saudi Pavilion came out fourth among the most favorable pavilions according to the total number of memorial pictures taken by Expo visitors.

 

A Closing ceremony under the aegis of His Excellency the President of Kazakhstan will be hosted on 10 September 2017.
