Riyadh – HE Dr. Hashem bin Abdullah Yamani - President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE) received in his office, today, Monday Jumada I, 1438H (January 30th, 2017G) HE Dr. Bandar Bin Muhamad Hamzah Hajjar – President of the IDB and the accompanying delegation. A session of discussion was held between the two parties attended by HE Dr. Waleed Bin Husain Abualfaraj - Vice President of K.A.CARE and a number of senior officials from both parties.
During this meeting plans and goals of K.A.CARE in the area of atomic and renewable energy were reviewed as well as the National Transformation Program 2020. Officials from the IDB reviewed the opportunities, tasks and services provided by the Bank to member Islamic countries so as to enhance economic and social development as well as the scientific and technical progress in these countries.
The two sides agreed on the importance of mutual cooperation and the development of mechanisms of action for promising opportunities in the field of atomic and renewable energy. Also, a bilateral meeting between the technical teams from both parties was held to discuss and identify possible areas of joint cooperation and ways to achieving them to support energy sector in Islamic countries as the primary engine for development and progress of societies.
