 KACARE hosts the 21st Meeting of the Saudi Arabian Grid Code Supervisory Committee (GCSC) and its ad hoc sideline workshop

King Abdullah City for Atomic & Renewable Energy (KACARE) will host the 21st Meeting of the Saudi Arabian Grid Code Supervisory Committee (GCSC) to be held at KACARE’s Headquarters in Riyadh on Thursday, 27 February 2014. KACARE, in its capacity as a permanent member of the Committee and as the authority managing the atomic and renewable energy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is working in updating the Grid Code via sets of amendments to accommodate the country mission towards Renewable energy and Nuclear energy. Theses amendments of the Grid Code have been conducted with the collaboration of business partners and the key stakeholders, in-line with the Kingdom’s endeavors, and to maintain a well-balanced and integrated energy-mix in the Saudi Grid.

It is noteworthy that just prior to the aforesaid meeting, namely on Wednesday 26 February 2014, a dedicated workshop will be organized under the patronage of KACARE with a presence of various stakeholders and business partners. The workshop will address vital topics such as the need to upgrade Grid Code contents with a view to pave the way for the Kingdom’s strategy with respect to atomic and renewable energy, as well as to ensure maintaining or oven enhancing the stability and reliability of the Saudi Grid.
