KACARE’s Vice-President, Dr. Waleed Hussein Abulfaraj, has received in his office at KACARE’s Head Quarter, Sunday 30 November 2014 the Korean Ambassador to the Kingdom, Mr. Jin-Soo Kim and members of the accompanying delegation. The reception was attended by a number of KACARE’s officials and the staff of the Korean Embassy in Riyadh. KACARE’s projects in both fields of atomic and renewable energy were reviewed during the meeting during which venues for mutual cooperation were also explored.
It is worth mentioning also that on 15/11/2011, KACARE had concluded, within the context of the Agreement concluded between the two governments on peaceful uses of atomic energy, a cooperative agreement with Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology Research (KAIST) . In addition, a number of training programs has been carried out where Saudi engineers have received training at the hands of Korean experts through an atomic energy advanced course arranged for the purpose in Riyadh. Moreover, twenty-three (23) Saudi students have also received further training during summer in Korea. The Republic of Korea is one of the leading States in the field of atomic energy.
