The President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KAKARE) Dr. Hashim Abdullah Yamani received at his office today, Sunday 23 Jumada II 1436 His Excellency the French Foreign Minister Mr. Laurent Fabius and accompanying delegation, now on an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The meeting discussed possible avenues for joint cooperation between KACARE and the Republic of France in the fields of atomic energy for peaceful uses. The meeting also signed a Memorandum of Understanding between KACARE and the World Energy Institute on Cooperation and Training of national cadres in the field of nuclear energy through collaboration and communication with universities, and development of academic and training programs. On the part of KACARE the MOU was signed by the head of Research, Development and Innovation Sector, and on the French Side by the President of the World Energy Institute, in the presence of KACARE’s President and His Excellency the French Foreign Minister. The signature ceremony and the meeting were attended by KACARE’s Vice-President Dr. Waleed Hussein Abulfaraj as well as a number of other officials.
