Vice President of “King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy K.A.CARE” Dr. Waleed Abu Alfaraj held an expanded meeting with the Saudi Ambassador to Hungary / Mohamad Al Matrafi on Sunday morning to discuss ways of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Hungary in the field of the peaceful uses of atomic energy. The agenda of the meeting included discussing the terms of the agreement to be signed between the Kingdom and Hungary in the peaceful use of atomic energy, which includes the agreement between the two countries on the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes besides the application of nuclear energy for the production of electricity and water desalination, in addition to qualifying human cadres in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
According to the draft agreement the cooperation between the two countries will cover the development of nuclear energy in the field of agronomy, biology, earth science, medicine and industry and cooperation.
The meeting was attended by the head of research, development and innovation sector and the general manager of international cooperation department.
