Within the framework of the Saudi-French Agreement, King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy is holding its 2nd meeting with the French Ministry of Environment today, Wednesday 19/6/1436 corresponding to 8/4/2015. The agenda issue to be discussed will be the issue of building of human capabilities, developmental nuclear research, nuclear waste management as well as other organizational nuclear aspects.
The scheduled meeting comes in the aftermath of the Agreement which has already been signed between the two countries and under which a joint committee called “the Joint Saudi-French Nuclear Commission” . The said Commission held its 1st meeting in March last year. The meeting resulted in the establishment of four Saudi-French Working Groups.
The above-mentioned Working Groups will address such topics as management of nuclear waste, nuclear organizational aspects, R&D, and human capacity building.
