 KACARE’s President Receives Mr. Sergy Kirienko, the Chief Executive Officer of Rosatom

Dr. Hashim Abdullah Yamani, the President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy "KACARE" received this morning, Wednesday 5 Rabi' I 1437H, corresponding to 16 December 2015 Mr. Sergey Kirilenko, Chief Executive Officer of "Rosatom" State Nuclear Energy Corporation in the Russian Federation and accompanying delegation.  The reception took place at KACARE's HQs in Riyadh in the presence of a number of the K.A.CARE's high ranking officials as well as the Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 

 

The two sides discussed ways and means to further joint cooperation in the field of atomic energy between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of the Russian Federation, within the framework of the Agreement for cooperation in the area of nuclear energy peaceful uses signed between the two countries on 1 Ramadhan 1436H corresponding to 18 June 2015. Rosatom's Chief Executive Officer took note of the Kingdom's ambitious plans to build-up its atomic and renewable energy sectors to eventually incorporate them into the  mix of traditional  energy resources over the next years.  Rosatom's CEO informed the Saudi Side that Russia was ready to cooperate with KACARE to make the Kingdom's ambitious atomic energy program a real success, and to contribute towards those other relevant aspects the Kingdom needs to satisfy inasmuch  as  peaceful uses of atomic energy are concerned.

 

It is worth mentioning that Rosa tom is globally a leader in this field.  It controls several civil nuclear companies and R&D corporations, with over seventy (70) years of experience in nuclear dealings.  Without a shadow of a doubt it is one of the leading entities worldwide in terms of nuclear technologies and capabilities which makes  it  quite capable to provide highly advanced solutions in energy and industry.

 

Rossatom  takes hold a huge part of  the total nuclear market in the world.  Furthermore, it is currently considered as the largest universal corporation specializing in the construction of nuclear reactors.  Its share is the largest in number of reactors under construction- - 45 reactors : 9 within Russia itself and 36 abroad.
