 The kingdom is participating in the meetings of the International Agency for Renewable Energy in Abu Dhabi

The Kingdom is participating, represented by King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable energy, in the meetings of the fourth session of the International Agency for Renewable Energy, by a delegation presided by Eng. Ahmad bin Mohamad Al Sedhan, the president of International cooperation which is being held during the period from 18 to 19 January 2014G. Most recent news, projects and future initiatives in the field of renewable energy shall be discussed under the umbrella of transfer operation being witnessed by the International energy sector. The Agency shall present its last researches and studies and will unveil Remap Report ” which represents the road map to double the share of renewable energy in the sector of international energy by the year 2030.

The International Agency for Renewable Energy (IRENA) is an international organization aims at encouraging the use of renewable energy sources all over the world. It has been founded (IRENA) in January 26, 2009G in Bonn, Germany where 151 states joined it, the Kingdom is one of them. Irena is endeavoring to become the main pushing power behind encouraging states to the quick transfer towards the wide and sustainable use of renewable energy on an international scope. Its functions are represented in facilitating the procurement of all information relevant to the capabilities of renewable energy and benefitting of the best practices and financial effective mechanism and most recent technical experiences. It also supervises the drafting of policies and new strategies to uncover the unknown capabilities in renewable energy around the world. Next to the Agency’s headquarters, located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, the Renovation and techniques Center which follows the Agency in Boon is situated in the city of Bonn, as Vienna hosts the Office of Communications for Cooperation with the United Nations and other international organizations.
