The President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy Dr. Hashim Abdullah Yamani received the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Japan Mr. Ahmed ibn Yunis Al-Barrak. The reception took place this morning, Tuesday at the office of Dr. Yamani.
Dr. Yamani discussed with the Saudi Ambassador Mr. Al-Barrak potential ways and means of cooperation between the Kingdom and Japan with respect to renewable energy, the development and utilization thereof. Also certain agreements the Kingdom has concluded with Japan in the field of energy were also taken up. Mr. Barrak highly appreciated the role the Kingdom, represented by KACARE, is playing, as well as the efforts being exerted to make the utmost and optimal utilization of energy in all potential aspects , be it in the area of electricity, water desalination, and other fields.
During the meeting the strategy adopted by KACARE, concerning atomic and renewable energy, was also reviewed within the international perspective of atomic energy. Discussions also touched on the Draft Cooperation Agreement on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy between the Governments of Saudi Arabia and Japan.
