Under the auspices of the President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, Dr. Hashim Yamani, the City launched its renewable energy Atlas, on Wednesday 18 December 2013. The Event was witnessed by the Minister of Water and Electricity Dr. Abdullah Al-Husain and the President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology Dr. Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Suwayel. The inaugural event took place at Prince Sultan Great Hall at Al-Faysaliyah Hotel in Riyadh. The audience also included the Rectors of Universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, high-ranking officials from Ministries, Agencies, Organizations and Governmental and non-governmental entities, and foreign Ambassadors to the Kingdom. Among the audience was also Mr. Adnan Amin, Director-General of the International Agency for Renewable Energy. The Atlas Project is cornerstone in the series of the Projects launched by the City.

The Atlas is an important tool which provides data to all interested parties and stakeholders related to renewable energy projects, be it companies, universities or research centers.
