The President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE) Dr. Hashem bin Abdullah Yamany received in his office at the City’s Headquarter in Riyadh on Sunday December 1st 2013 the Chinese Minister Of the National Department for Energy accompanied by deputy president of the Committee of Nationa Development and Reformation Mr. Wu Xinxion who is currently visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The meeting was attended by a number of K.A.CARE key officials.

During this meeting common scopes of mutual interest for both countries mainly in the field of peaceful use of Atomic energy and renewable energy were broached. Furthermore discussions were continued about the procedures of implementing the agreement with K.A.CARE. On those basis the two parties signed an agreement of understanding in that regard.

It is noteworthy to mention that K.A.CARE has previously signed an agreement of cooperation with China. The agreement will permit corporations in both countries to strengthen their cooperation in the field of producing a, using and transferring the technique of peaceful uses of atomic energy.

H.E. Dr. Hashem mentioned that this agreement gives the Saudi experts the opportunity to study the Chinese technical options, its financial requirements and what it needs of preparing the qualified national work force to participate in building the stations of substitute power to produce electricity and desalinate water.
