The President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy Dr. Hashem Bin Abdullah Yamani received in his office at the City’s headquarters in Riyadh on this morning Sunday 21st of Muharram 1435H corresponding to the 24th of November 2013G, the French Minister of Industry Mr. Arnaud Montebourg who is currently visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a number of K.A.CARE key staff members attended the meeting.

Scopes of mutual interest to both countries were broached during this meeting specifically in the field of the peaceful use of atomic energy as well as renewable energy. In the meeting discussion of procedures of executing the agreement between the two countries in the joint field of energy were continued.

It is noteworthy to mention that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represented by K.A.CARE has signed, in advance, an agreement of cooperation with France. Said agreement would permit corporations in both countries to strengthen their cooperation in the field of production use and transfer of the techniques of peaceful use of atomic energy.

Dr. Hashem has mentioned beforehand that this agreement opens the scope to Saudi experts to study the French technical options, its financial requirements and what it necessitates to prepare the qualified national human power needed to participate in the construction of alternative power stations needed to produce electricity and desalinate water.
