K.A.CARE’s Vice-President, Dr. Waleed Hussein Abulfaraj has today, Thursday 4 September 2014, signed a Memorandum for Joint Cooperation with The President of King Abdulaziz Dr. Osamah Sadiq Tayyib in Jeddah Governorate. The objective is to study and develop sustainable energy solutions.
It is worth-mentioning that K.A.CARE is empowered to propose national policies governing atomic and renewable energy, draft the necessary plans and strategies for the implementation thereof, including provision of care and support to R&D activities, scientific development and localization of technology and know-how, coordination of such other activities as necessary with scientific research centers and institutions within the kingdom. It is further empowered to set national priorities and policies in the field of atomic and renewable energy, with a view to build up a robust and solid base in such fields as power generation, water desalination and capacity building for Saudi nationals. KACARE is further empowered to establish and administer projects the objective of which is to attain its goals and objectives. It may also establish joint projects with other entities and universities, one of which is King Abdulaziz which is endeavoring to take up prerequisites for attaining sustainability, environment preservation, and utilization of renewable energy.
